OPENING NIGHT OF THE 30th GREEK FILM FESTIVAL SPECIAL MEMBER TICKET OFFER
The 30th Greek Film Festival opens on Tuesday 14 October and as a valued member of the Greek Community of Melbourne, you are invited to secure special member discounted tickets.
Marking its 30-year anniversary, the Greek Film Festival returns from 14 - 26 October with the powerful opening feature, Kapetan Mihalis, a film that brings to life the iconic hero of Kazantzakis’ best-selling novel – the fierce Cretan warrior sworn to wear black until his homeland is free.
“I don’t weigh, I don’t measure, I don’t compromise. I follow the deep beating of my heart” encapsulates the value system of the hero - an uncompromising Cretan, whose sacred duty is the liberation of his island.
Set during the 1889 revolution, which aimed to liberate the island from the Ottoman Turks, Kapetan Mihalis is a powerful, intense production featuring a stellar cast of renowned Greek actors.
