The Greek Community of Melbourne’s Antipodes Festival will take over the historic Lonsdale St Greek Precinct on Saturday 29 February and Sunday 1 March. Formerly known as Lonsdale St Greek Festival, Melbourne's largest Greek cultural celebration is back with a new name, new look and some new offerings. With over 90 stalls, three free entertainment stages and roving performers, children’s rides and activities, as well as multiple bars and an array of mouthwatering Greek culinary delights, there will be something for the entire family to enjoy!

The GCM introduced the Greek Language Program for Toddlers "ELA" for kids 2-4 yo. The new program will operate on Thursdays at Bulleen (10:00-11:30am, Koonara Hall, 7 Balwyn Rd) and on Fridays at East Doncaster (10:00 - 11:30am, East Doncaster Baptist Church, 47-53 Tunsdall Rd, Donvale)

LALOR NORTH PRIMARY SCHOOL'S BILINGUAL PROGRAM 
 
 
Lalor North Primary School / Greek bilingual program 

The Greek Bilingual Program of the school began in 1977 and is the oldest continually operating bilingual program in Victoria. The program operates under the guidelines set by the Department of Education and Training. Children are immersed in the target language from the start of their schooling for half of each day. Teacher Ana Koutsouroupas shares in Neos Kosmos what it has been like teaching Greek and English at Lalor North’s 43-year-old bilingual program. More info about the Program HERE.
