GCM drama students perform “The Little Prince’
On Sunday 5th March the Mezzanine level of the Greek Centre was overwhelmed with an enthusiastic audience who had the unique opportunity to see the students of the Creative Drama & Arts Centre (Alphington Campus) perform the play “The Little Prince”. With distinctive features of the Black Theatre technique the young performers, the majority being 3rd generation Greek-Australian, impressed with a use of the Greek language and with the exceptional delivery of the play’s messages. | MORE

New MBA scholarship to strengthen Melbourne’s Greek connection
Melbourne Business School, home to Australia’s first MBA program, has launched a new Hellenic Scholarship to support students living in Greece or Cyprus to study in Australia. The scholarship was created in collaboration between Melbourne Business School, the Greek Community of Melbourne and the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HACCI). | MORE

International Mother Tongue celebrations
Over 40 communities came together at Parliament House on 28 February 2017, at an event organised by Community Languages Australia to celebrate the UN International Mother Tongue program. On the 25th of March the Greek Community's most historical church "The Annunciation of Our Lady" will celebrate its feast day with the attendance of our religious and consular authorities and also representative of the Greek community organisation. The celebrations include: Saturday 24 March 2017, the Archieratical Great Vespers at the St John Church (Lygon St., North Carlton); Sunday 25 March 2017 the Orthros and Archieratical Divine Liturgy at the St Nicholas Antiochian church at the the corner of Simpson St & Victoria Parade.
