LABOR PARTY SUPPORTS MELBOURNE'S GREEK COMMUNITY
The Shadow Attorney-General, Mark Dreyfus; the Member for Hotham, Clare O’Neil; and Labor’s candidate for Wills, Peter Khalil; announced on Wednesday during their visit to the Greek Centre that a Shorten Labor Government will provide almost $600,000 in support for Melbourne’s vibrant Greek community.
Mr Dreyfus said that a Shorten Labor Government will provide additional funding to support: the advanced Greek Language and cultural course run by the Greek Community of Melbourne, the Melbourne Greek Story exhibition at the Greek Centre for Contemporary Culture Gallery, the publication of two non-fiction works on the history of Melbourne’s Greek community by the Greek Community of Melbourne, a feasibility study into three key elements of Greek Melbourne (the Lonsdale Street Festival, the Historic Lonsdale Street Greek Precinct and the Greek Community of Melbourne’s Greek Centre). | MORE
