The Annual General Meeting of The Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne & Victoria will be held on Sunday 3 May 2020, at 2.00pm. The Αnnual General Meeting will be virtual meeting.

THE GREEK HISTORY AND CULTURE SEMINARS POSTPONED

In light of recent developments and on-going monitoring of the COVID-19 situation, the Greek Community of Melbourne has decided to suspend its seminar series until further notice.

OUR CHURCHES CLOSED BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19

Following the edict of the Patriarch and the subsequent encyclical from the Archbishop the operation of the GCM churches was postponed. Also, any church elderly citizen associations, youth groups and or other community organisations based at our churches ceased to meet on church premises. The only services that may be conducted moving forward and until further notice are funerals.

Με βάση την απόφαση του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου και της Αρχιεπισκοπής Αυστραλίας και σύμφωνα με τις διατάξεις των αρμοδίων κυβερνητικών αρχών της Αυστραλίας, οι εκκλησίες της Κοινότητάς μας θα παραμείνουν κλειστές μέχρι νεωτέρας ειδοποίησης. Θα πραγματοποιούνται μόνο κηδείες και με άτομο άτομα στενού οικογενειακού κύκλου του εκλιπόντως.

OUR SCHOOLS PREPARE FOR REMOTE  LEARNING

As a result of the Goverment instructions in regard to coronavirus CODIV-19 our Language and Culture Shools have been preparing to transition to remote learning. There have been multiple training sessions on designing activities and resources for remote delivery as well as on the efficient use of the digital platforms and applications that will be utilized for this purpose. The Modern Greek and Ancient Greek classes continue online.

Ως αποτέλεσμα των κυβερνητικών οδηγιών για τον κορωναϊό το Σχολείο Γλώσσας και Πολιτισμού της Κοινότητάς μας ποετοιμάζεται για την εξ' αποστάσεως διδασκαλία των μαθημάτων. Οι τάξεις Ελληνικών και Αρχαίων Ελληνικών συνεχίζονται διαδικτυακά.
