MELBOURNE’S GREEK COMMUNITY UNITES TO HELP THOSE FIGHTING THE FIRES IN GREECE

Greece is experiencing one of the worst fire disasters in its history as devastating wildfires rip through land that has been made tinder try following the hottest summer in over 30 years. We are raising funds for the heroic Hellenic Volunteer Fire Fighters Association (HVFFA) who are fighting these fires throughout Greece. At the time of posting, Greek volunteer fire fighters faced over 150 fires in 45C+ temperatures. Money raised will go directly to equipping the HVFFA with much needed fire fighting safety equipment for its volunteer force. A coalition of not for profit Greek community organisations has come together on this drive. The Greek Community of Melbourne will administer the campaign and will publish all results including details of all purchases made by the HVFFA at the conclusion of the drive.
