GREECE21: THE LONSDALE STREET GREEK MUSIC FESTIVAL

March 20+21.  A live musical festival the features some of Melbourne’s best Greek bands and musicians. Taking place in Lonsdale street’s Golden Square carpark this two-day event will also be home to Melbourne’s greatest Greek food trucks.

GREECE 21: THE ANNUNCIATION OF OUR LADY FEAST DAY

28 March. The Church of the Holy Annunciation in East Melbourne is the oldest Orthodox Church in Victoria, completed in 1901 and the second oldest church in Australia. Following a devastating fire the combined celebration will be both an opening of the restated church and a celebration of the famous rallying cry that was the raising of the banner at Agia Lavra.

2021 sees Greece and the Greek diaspora celebrating the 200 year anniversary of the War of Independence and the creation of the modern Greek state. To celebrate this event the Greek Community of Melbourne and Victoria, with the support of the official Greece21 Committee, has created a year long program of events for your enjoyment.

THE GCM’S LANGUAGE & CULTURE SCHOOLS 

The Greek Community of Melbourne Language Schools provide innovative and high-quality Greek Language and Culture classes for students from Kinder to VCE. Children learn to speak Greek in a fun and engaging environment, through song, dance, crafts and creative drama during the early years, as well as more formal methods as they reach appropriate ages.
