Melbourne International Comedy Festival returns to the Greek Centre

The Melbourne International Comedy Festival is back at the Greek Centre from March 29th to April 23rd, promising an exciting international program filled with over 600 shows across Melbourne. The Greek Centre this year is hosting a fantastic line-up of international and some of the best local comedic artists in the industry including the much talked about Ismo (Finland), Alfie Brown (UK) and South African star Schalk Bezuidenhout.
Get ready for a good laugh!

GCM students join the National Day parade

Melbourne's Greek community school students celebrated Greece's National Day by joining in the commemorations at the parade which this year was held at South Melbourne FC stadium in Albert Park, followed by commemorating both the national day and the feast day at the historic Evangelismos Church.

Eleftheria Arvanitaki shines at GCM's 2nd Grecian Ball

The GCM hosted the 2nd Grecian Ball at the Park Hyatt in Melbourne on Friday 24 March. The ball featured a stunning performance by Eleftheria Arvanitaki, who captivated the audience with her beautiful voice. Guests were also entertained by the opening act, Cats and the Canary, as they covered popular Greek songs.

GCM launches book on its rich history

The GCM hosted the official launch of the book "Σάρκα και Οστά της Μακρινής Πατρίδας" on Sunday 26 March, at the Greek Centre. This book, written by Georgia Charpantidou, follows the historical course of the GCM from its emergence in the late nineteenth century until the early 1970s.

Seminar: The Asia Minor Refugees and the Remaking of Greek Left

Historian Dr. Kostis Karpozilos will be delivering an online lecture entitled "The Asia Minor Refugees and the Remaking of the Greek Left" on Thursday, March 30th at 7:00 pm. The lecture is part of the Greek History Culture Seminars and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube.
