Labor announces $1.8m support for the GCM's Greek Centre Hub Project

In an announcement earlier today at the community hall at the Greek Community of Melbourne’s (GCM) St Demetrios site in Windsor, Federal Labor’s Bill Shorten MP Shadow Minister for the NDIS, Andrew Giles Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Labor Candidate for Higgins Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah announced a $1.8million commitment for the GCM’s Greek Centre Hub Project.

The GCM lights the Greek Centre red

The Greek Centre is lit up in red light to mark the remembrance of the Pontic Greek Genocide (1916-1923), one of the darkest moments in Greece’s history. The red light on the Greek centre symbolizes the 350,000 fallen Pontian’s who were massacred by the Turkish army.
