The GCM honours Senator Arthur Sinodinos

Senator Arthur Sinodinos was honoured by the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) during a fundraising tribute dinner last Monday, at the Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club. The sold out fundraising event coincided with the 28 October “OXI Day” and was hosted by George Donikian who curated a series of insightful questions for the Senator that gave the 120 guests an insight into his young life, political highlights and experiences. The Senator then took questions from the invited guests in what was an honest and insightful Q&A session. He praised the GCM for the Cultural Centre and of the significance and value of the Lonsdale Street Greek Festival. Senator Sinodinos is appointed as the next Australian Ambassador to the United States of America, becoming the first Australian of Hellenic background to hold such an auspicious post.

The Delphi Bank 26th Greek Film Festival concluded with the world premiere of acclaimed Greek- Australian writer and director Alkinos Tsilimidos’ highly anticipated black comedy The Tavern.
