LIVE AT THE GREEK: THE HABIBIS

The end of winter is in sight! Time to come out of hiberation, grab the parea and head to The Greek Centre to settle in with a drink and enjoy live music from Melbourne's best Greek musicians.

On Friday 22 September, ARIA Award winners The Habibis will take to the stage to perform exquisite traditional music from Greece, Anatolia, The Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean. Theirs is music of "passion and intelligence, which can move a listener of whatever ancestry." (ABC Radio).
Featuring Irine Vela (laouto, bouzouki, guita), Pascal Latra (vocals, baglama, percussion) and Mulaim Vela (guitar).

Friday 6 October sees the return of beloved locals Polyxeni playing soulful Greek roots, and featuring Jenny Theologidis (guitar, vocals), Wayne Simmons (guitar, banjo, accordion, laouto, vocals), Adrian Close (double bass) and Sally Taylor (fiddle).
