Greek National Day Parade
Sun 22 March | Australian Hellenic Memorial Join the community for the Greek National Day Parade on Sunday 22 March at 1:30pm along Birdwood Avenue at the Australian Hellenic Memorial. Come and support the many schools (including our own), community organisations and cultural groups marching to honour the 205th anniversary of Greek Independence. Bring your flags, bring your family, and help create a strong show of community pride.

Celebrate the 25th of March at the historic Evangelismos Church
The Annunciation of Our Lady Church in East Melbourne, warmly invites you to commemorate the Feast of the Annunciation and Greek National Day on 25 March. Program Tuesday 24 March 7:00pm – Great Vespers, presided over by Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne Wednesday 25 March 9:00am – 11:00am – Divine Liturgy 11:00am – Official Doxology Service 12:00pm – Annual Church Luncheon All are welcome to attend. Free Easter Workshop for Children

Certificate of Attainment in Greek: Registrations Closing Soon
19–21 May | Various Locations Registrations are closing soon for the 2026 Certificate of Attainment in Greek exams, held in May at the Greek Community of Melbourne. Recognised by the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, the Certificate confirms Greek language proficiency from A1 (children 8–12) through to C2. Applications close: 29 March 2026 Exam dates: 19–21 May 2026 Fees: $160–$180 AUD (depending on level) Candidates must be 8 years old by 31 May 2026. Age guidelines apply for A1 and higher levels.

Greek for Beginners (Adults)
Greek Centre or Online | Classes Start 23 April | Adults Start your Greek language journey with our A1.1 Beginner course, designed for those starting from scratch.
Learn the essentials of everyday communication, including greetings, introductions, the Greek alphabet, numbers and basic verbs. Build a strong foundation in a fun and supportive environment, either in person at The Greek Centre (168 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne) or online from anywhere in the world. Talk to us about a trial class, or where you're at in your learning journey.

Greek for Late Beginners (10–18)
Online | Starts 22 April | 10–18 Start your Greek language journey with our Beginner Level A1.1 course for ages 10–18, designed for students taking their first steps in learning Greek. Delivered online in a small, supportive class of up to 10 students, this 10-week course runs every Wednesday from 4:30–6:30pm, commencing 22 April 2026. Talk to us about a trial class.

Over 145,000 People Pack a Tropical Lonsdale St for the 38th Antipodes Festival
More than 145,000 people packed Lonsdale Street for the 38th Antipodes Festival, turning Melbourne’s historic Greek precinct into a vibrant, city-wide celebration of culture, food, music and dance. With its largest footprint to date and over 120 stalls, the festival brought together generations of attendees, highlighting both the strength of the Greek community and its place within Melbourne’s multicultural identity.
