Life of Byron Opens to Rave Reviews & Packed Houses
Fri, Sat & Sun nights until 7 June 2026 | Greek Centre George Kapiniaris and Sophia Katos took to the stage over the weekend at The Greek Centre, bringing plenty of laughs, nostalgia and familiar family moments to audiences. Audiences connected deeply with the show’s reflections on growing up Greek-Australian, family life and memory, with many staying back after the performance to chat with the cast. The season continues every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until 7 June. Gather your friends and family and book your seats for this weekend’s performances.

Coming Soon: Zorba’s Last Dance
10 – 14 June 2026 | Greek Centre Zorba’s Last Dance asks the question many of us never thought about — what happened to Zorba after the story ended? This powerful and thought-provoking theatre work brings the legendary Zorba face to face with his creator, Nikos Kazantzakis, in a moving clash between myth, memory and reality. Blending drama, music and humour, the production explores identity, ageing, friendship and the stories we leave behind, all through one of Greek culture’s most iconic figures.

This Sunday: 100 Years Mimis Plessas

The 100 Years of Mimis Plessas concert has now officially sold out, with audiences set to fill Elisabeth Murdoch Hall this Sunday for a special tribute to one of Greece’s greatest composers. Acclaimed vocalist Dimitris Basis will join conductor George Ellis and a full symphony orchestra for an unforgettable evening celebrating the life and music of Mimis Plessas, performing many of the legendary songs that shaped generations of Greek music lovers. GCM thanks everyone for the overwhelming support and looks forward to welcoming audiences for this landmark celebration of Greek music and culture.

This Sunday: Holy Trinity to Celebrate Feast Day in Footscray
Holy Trinity in Footscray invites the community to come together for its Feast Day celebrations from 30 May – 1 June. Services across the weekend will include Great Festival Vespers and Divine Liturgies, with His Grace Bishop Eumenios presiding over key celebrations. On Sunday 31 May, the festivities continue with the Holy Trinity Annual BBQ from 11am–3pm, featuring Greek BBQ, live music, kids activities and a welcoming afternoon for the whole family.
