Synopsis
For more than 2600 years, the French and Greek histories have been inextricably linked in a variety of ways, with the two nations gradually building geographical, cultural, political, and economic relations that appear to be stronger than ever. This could explain why France is a common topic in almost all Greek media, and why Greeks are so interested in what happens in Paris. The major purpose of this presentation is to explain to a general audience, on the one hand, the longstanding Greek presence in France, and, on the other hand, the essential role played by important Greek French individuals in both countries. After all, a deeper awareness of the past and present allows for a much better understanding of the future. Knowledge is power. Especially in 2024, when our future already appears to be complicated and unexpected for all of us.
