2022 GREEK FILM FESTIVAL OPENS ITS DOORS IN MELBOURNE AND SYDNEY ON OCTOBER 13After a two-year hiatus, the Greek Film Festival will make its much-awaited return to Australian screens with an action filled line up of acclaimed features. The 2022 Festival opens its doors on Thursday October 13 in Melbourne and Sydney continuing into Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra through November. Headlining the Festival this year is the celebrated film Eftihia, inspired by the life of Eftihia Papagiannopoulou, a lyricist who created a massive volume of timeless popular songs, set to music by Tsitsanis, Kaldaras, Hiotis and Hadjidakis, amongst others. The diverse festival line-up of 13 narrative features, four documentaries and the Student Film Festival will transport Greek film lovers to new heights, highlighting ambitious, local Greek art with a cinematic flare leaving you wanting more. In Melbourne the festival will be presented at The Astor and Palace Cinema Como, and in Sydney at the Palace Cinema on Norton Street.
