With just one week to go, planning for Melbourne’s largest celebration of Greek culture – the Lonsdale St Greek Festival - is well and truly underway.
On the weekend of 23 and 24 February, the historical Greek precinct will be filled with 80 stalls, four free entertainment stages, two bars, cooking demonstrations, children’s rides and activities.
Headlining the event will be one of Greece’s most popular singing sensations, Eleonora Zouganeli, on her first Australian visit.

The exclusive Greek Community Cocktail Party will be hosted at the Delphi Bank Mezzanine (in the Greek Centre), with food and drinks throughout the evening including Greek beer, wine and spirits.
2019 Rebetiko Festival: The surge of the underground

The Rebetiko Festival pays homage to the past and reflects a modern Greece with new diverse musical influences. Direct from Greece, Rebetien showcases its authentic Rebetiko sound and will be supported by international and local Rebetiko artists. See the artists tab on this page to view the line-up.
The Greek Centre is proud to announce that it will host ‘Nostos III- Return to the roots’, an initiative of the goverments of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt. Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Terence Quick, Cyprus’ Presidential Commissioner for humanitarian affairs Photis Photiou will visit Melbourne to attend the forum.
You can test your endurance, and dance your way to Greece! Our longest running competition is back and we can't wait to see who is left standing and will win the return flight to Greece.
We are on the search for the next special voice. The competition is open to amateur singers of all ages and entrants must sing a song in Greek or by a Greek composer.
Its time to prep the rolling pin, because we are on the hunt for Melbourne's best Baklava and Pita. If you think your sweet or savoury pastry skills are good enough to impress some of Melbourne's best Greek cooks and industry professionals, then its time to put on the apron and apply for My Baklava Is Better Than Yours or Pita Pride. The winner of each category will be not only be walking away with the title, but will have the opportunity to share their winning recipe at the Procal Kitchen during the festival.
