Melbourne’s largest celebration of Greek culture will take over Lonsdale Street with a weekend packed full of Hellenic food, dance and entertainment for the whole family. The 31st Lonsdale Street Greek Festival will be headlined by international folk musician Giannis Haroulis, who will perform a free outdoor concert on Saturday 10 February at sunset. A Cretan native, Haroulis is currently one of the most successful artists in Greece. His concerts are highly energetic, and his ability to connect with his audience has seen his career go from strength to strength. In addition to the 100 or so shows he performs each year, he has also recorded music for television, including the incredibly successful series “The Island”.
Greek-Cypriot Australian Soprano, Christiana Aloneftis, performs with one of Australia’s finest pianists, David Barnard and Victorian Opera Artists, Stephen Marsh and Tomas Dalton.
