Mauthausen and Other Songs of Humanity
Wednesday 29 April at 7.30pm - Melbourne Recital Centre Performed by two great singers, Maria Farantouri from Greece and Israeli tenor Assaf Kacholi. Seventy-five years after the liberation of the Mauthausen concentration camp the two artists will commemorate the suffering, but above all the longing for life and the dreams for the future of humanity. A selection of Theodorakis’ most beautiful songs, including settings of poetry by Seferis, Elytis, Cavafy and Lorca will also be performed.
